Twilight
Stephanie Mayer's Twilight saga is a publishing juggernaut, and women - young and old - have read the series from cover to cover.

Two sermons to choose from:
1. Twilight: Saving Damn(ed) Vampires. This first sermon charts the rise of the popularity of Vampires in literature and film and their transformation from horrific blood-sucking monsters of the past to the tortured yet alluring creatures of modern times. How do the vampires of Twilight see themselves and can they be saved from damnation? Ultimately, vampires offer a poor imitation of the eternal life God offers through Jesus.
2. Bloody Twilight: Stop Killing the Vegetables. This second offering looks at the vampire fascination with blood. A bit of science talk on the subject of blood is followed by the idea that death is required to sustain life. I.e. animals and vegetables must die in order for us to live. I conclude with a discussion of the importance of blood sacrifice to cleansing sin (1 Jn 1:17; Rom 5:9; 1 Pet 1:19) and how Christ's death is essential to our salvation.
